Let's Talk Big Money

The time has come for women to be in the rooms where decisions are made.

(To be honest, it’s past time.)

This knowledge is the driving force behind everything that Kelli Thompson stands for.

Kelli is a:

She worked as a leader in corporate America for many years before starting her coaching business and eventually she hit a point where she realized that if she wanted to scale and book corporate clients, she needed to go all-in.

As a self-proclaimed intuitive decision-maker, Kelli decided to join The #BigMoney Movement after attending one of our live, virtual events.

She says the program helped her crush imposter syndrome, gain the confidence to reach out to old corporate contacts, and be in community with other women leaders.

Here are some of her challenges, big wins, and wise words.

Deciding To Go All In On LinkedIn

When Kelli started her coaching business, she spent a lot of her time on Facebook and Instagram. She had utilized LinkedIn in the most rudimentary sense for many years, but had really just seen it as a networking and resume platform rather than a content platform.

But, after attending a #BigMoney Movement virtual event, she says she realized that LinkedIn was sexier than she had ever realized, and that if she wanted to book corporate clients, she needed to learn how to funnel her energy there.

She had seen plenty of success doing 1-on-1 and bringing women into Clarity & Confidence women’s leadership program, but she wanted to scale in the sense that she hoped to get her foot in the corporate door to provide in-house training for large organizations.

“And I knew that if I wanted to scale my business, I needed to really go in, leverage my corporate contacts…be with someone who understands it, gets it, and can really challenge me and narrow in my messaging using LinkedIn as a tool,” Kellie explained. “And that’s why I decided to join The #BigMoney Movement. I just had this nudging that said, ‘this is where my clients are and this is where you need to go all in.’”

So, she did.

Putting In The Work

If there is one thing that Kelli can attest to, it is that The #BigMoney Movement is only for you if you are willing to put the work in.

And work she did!

She devoured the online training components initially, and then went back and used particular elements of them when the time was right in her business. For example, when it came time to put together a proposal for a corporate client.

“I went to send some business proposals, so I went back in to watch the business proposal trainings,” she said. “It was one of those ‘stop, start, pause, rewind’ situations and they really served their purpose for me as an on-demand gem.”

Finding the confidence and learning the right ways to reach out to old corporate connections, Kelli says, was also a game changer in her world. It was something she had struggled with significantly in the past.

She made a list of all of her dream clients, many of which she knew through past connections and started sliding into DMs to network. And lo and behold, had a phone call with one of those dream clients not too long ago!

Overcoming Imposter Syndrome

As a woman leader, Kelli is all too familiar with the beast that is imposter syndrome.

She actually has a saying that she uses with her own clients: Today’s goals become tomorrow’s imposter syndrome.

“Every new level of exposure brings a whole new level of imposter syndrome,” she said. “We are always excited about goals when they seem like they are in some distant future, and then when you get to them, you realize these are bigger stages, higher level executives and the doubt just creeps in.”

For Kelli, the sense of community and knowing that there are other women in the arena with her in The #BigMoney Movement program has been, she says, amazing for her mindset.

And since she has put in the work and was willing to go out and take those massive imperfect actions, Kelli has grown in leaps and bounds in business.

“Consistency isn’t sexy,” she said. “But it works.”

Letting Go Of The  ‘But First’s’

Kelli wrote her book because she is innately aware of the confidence gap that women have when it comes to owning positions of leadership in corporate America.

“It’s systemic,” she said. “We haven’t seen ourselves in the rooms where decisions are made. Men are out there charging twice what we are charging, asking for business, raising their rates – they’ve seen themselves in the room.”

She wants women everywhere to stop thinking that they need another certificate or permission to ask for what they deserve. To drop the ‘but first’s,’ and seize the opportunities in front of them.

Fast-Tracked Success

What does Kelli have to say about her decision to join The #BigMoney Movement?

“Joining the #BigMoney Movement was the best decision for my business. I can’t believe how quickly I recouped my investment. The situation summary is gold. People feel so heard, and it’s so simple.”

Within only four months of joining The #BMM Accelerator,  Kelli closed her largest corporate deal, ever!
